The Great Migration is a natural event with herds typically in the Maasai Mara from August to early November. Movements and river crossings of migrating herds can be challenging to predict year to year. When possible, we’ll modify game viewing when advised of reported sightings. All game viewing is done at your own risk and requires a signed liability waiver prior to travel. Due to rough driving on/off road and in/between game parks, this vacation is not recommended for guests with serious back problems or mobility issues.

NAIROBI Conservation MattersGuided sightseeing starts with a morning game drive in Nairobi National Park. Continue to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to learn about and witness elephant conservation in action. After lunch, visit the Karen Blixen Museum, dedicated to the Danish baroness and author of the 1937 autobiography Out of Africa (later, an Academy Award winning film) illustrating her time living and operating a coffee farm in Kenya. A visit to the 
Giraffe Centre is followed by free time this evening.

Also visit the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi—a non-profit organization operated by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, focused on saving the Rothschild giraffe. SHABA–OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY Wonderful Weavers & Wildlife Sanctuaries Depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. En route, stop at Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers, a project aimed at building sustainable livelihoods for local women through social and economic activities. After lunch, visit the Sweetwaters Chimp Sanctuary, then set out for an afternoon game drive. When the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra arrives, typically from August to early November, their population grows by almost 2 million, providing a bountiful food source for predators such as lions, cheetah, leopard, and hyena.
