Day 1

Arrive in Calgary. Welcome to Calgary! At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming Canadian Rockies adventure.

Day 2

Calgary–Lake Louise. This morning, enjoy an orientation tour of Calgary before heading to Lake Louise. Take a leisurely [LF] GUIDED WALK along the lake and hear about the area’s first settlers, some of the unique characters, and the history of this incredible setting. The rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy a canoe excursion, stroll along the lake, or just relax at this historic Canadian resort.

SPECIAL FEATURE: Your hotel tonight is the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Situated in one of the world’s most breathtaking settings, it evokes a sense of timeless beauty, warmth, intimacy, comfort, and Old World charm. The resort affords incredible opportunities for sightseeing, recreation, photography, shopping, and dining.

Day 3

Lake Louise–Columbia Icefield–Jasper. Head north on Icefields Parkway to savor stunning vistas of alpine meadows, waterfalls, and glaciers. We’ll stop at Peyto Lake, considered the best view in Canada and among the best in the world. Next, a trip highlight: the Columbia Icefield for a memorable ride on an ICE EXPLORER. Stand on 1,200 feet of ice and come face to face with the glaciers that feed into a Triple Continental Divide. On to JASPER NATIONAL PARK.

Day 4

Jasper. Excursion to Maligne Lake. This morning, CRUISE on Maligne Lake. The balance of the day is at leisure, so enjoy your resort. Hollywood greats such as Marilyn Monroe, Robert Mitchum, and Bing Crosby were known to play a round of golf on this scenic course—and you can, too. Pamper yourself with a spa treatment or stroll the streets of Jasper with its array of specialty stores.

Day 5

Jasper–Yoho National Park–Banff. This morning, we stop at thundering Athabasca Falls before continuing our sightseeing with visits to BANFF and YOHO NATIONAL PARK. See the Natural Bridge spanning Kicking Horse River and Emerald Lake. Arrive in Banff, with the balance of the day at leisure.

Day 6

Banff. Enjoy sightseeing with a ride on the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain. Afterward, a scenic drive around Tunnel Mountain – watch for animals like elk and deer and unique landscape features like the Hoodoos and Bow River. Later, take advantage of an optional helicopter flightseeing trip with dramatic aerial views of the Rocky Mountains and Banff or stroll the town’s colorful streets. This evening, meet a [LF] CANADIAN MOUNTIE who will share stories and the history of the RCMP. There will be time for questions and answers before a chance at some great photo ops! Then, your Tour director hosts a special farewell dinner.

Day 7

Banff–Calgary. Welcome to Calgary and the “Greatest Show on Earth.” Meet your Tour Director this evening at 6 pm for a welcome drink.

Day 8

Calgary. Today, explore the CALGARY STAMPEDE grounds at your leisure with your included admission. Step through the gates of Stampede Park into a world of wonder, fun, and “Wild West” excitement. Stroll the streets of a recreated frontier town and walk back in time on a [LF] “behind-the-scenes” visit to an authentic FIRST NATIONS VILLAGE, where you’ll learn more about the Native people, hear their stories, and meet a tribal elder. Enjoy a wide variety of exciting talent at the many entertainment stages, then maybe head into the dazzling array of exhibits and displays of Western art. This evening, watch the heart-stopping CHUCKWAGON RACES in an all-out dash for the finish line, an amazing contest of nerves and horsepower. Afterward, get ready for an outdoor STAGE SHOW featuring hundreds of singers, dancers, and musicians in a lavishly produced and choreographed musical variety spectacular.

Day 9

Calgary. A day at leisure to explore the Stampede grounds. Maybe visit Rope Square with its variety of Western entertainment and fun. This afternoon, see the best of the best as they saddle up for world-class RODEO action. Top professionals take on the West’s wildest horses. You’ll also enjoy the rodeo’s most famed event—bull riding! Take home a SOUVENIR PROGRAM to remind you of your time in Calgary.

"Brad began his career in tourism as part of a very small team of passionate guides onboard the fledgling Rocky Mountaineer. Over the next 15 years, he moved his way up in the company, eventually running the Guest Services Department and helping to shape the train into a world-class experience. Twenty years later, he has owned his own travel agencies, tour companies and also written marketing materials, with a flair for working with tourism based companies. In 2007, he decided to start motorcoach touring, beginning as an international guide in China and Italy before finally deciding to focus on Canada's West Coast and the Rocky Mountains, his own backyard. He has escorted thousands of inspired guests through one of the most beautiful areas of the world."
