• Stop in Harlem to visit the world-famous Apollo Theatre. This legendary venue has launched the careers of icons such at Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, James Brown, and Lauryn Hill. Take a tour or show up for Amateur Night, which still takes place every Wednesday.
  
  
• Visit the General Grant National Memorial. Commonly known as “Grant’s Tomb,” it overlooks the Hudson River from the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan. This is not only the final resting place of the General, but is also a memorial to his life and accomplishments.

Visit the homes of German and Italian families who survived the Panic of 1873 and the Great Depression.
